HEIMTSA

HEIMTSA (Health and Environment Integrated Methodology and Toolbox for Scenario Assessment) has brought together an international team of scientists in the areas of epidemiology, environmental science and biosciences, to collaborate on developing and applying new, integrated approaches to the assessment of environmental health risks and consequences, in support of European policy in transport, energy, agriculture, industry, household and waste treatment and disposal.

The project has been successfully finished by January 31, 2011. For further information, please visit the 'Results' section of our web sites or contact Fintan Hurley or Susan Scarisbrick. Thank you!

The Association for Aerosol Research invites to their International Specialty Conference on Air Pollution and Health: Bridging the Gap from Sources to Health Outcomes, taking place in San Diego, 22-26.03.2010.
The purpose of this conference is to bring together researchers to engage in discussion and to disseminate results from scientific studies designed to better understand the linkages between air pollution and health outcomes across the source to health effects paradigm. The conference is multi-pollutant focusing across five key science areas: sources, atmospheric sciences, exposure, dose, and health effects.

Guiding Themes (Summary)
1. Pollutants and Sources Associated With Health Effects
2. Reliability of Methods, Models, and Approaches
3. Pollutant Characterization and Population Exposure
4. Relation between Exposure and Dose
5. Mechanisms of Action and Biomarkers of Exposure and Effects
6. Susceptible Populations
7. Confounding and Other Factors
8. Accountability
9. Regulatory and Policy Implications

The call for abstracts is available HERE or on the conference website. Please be aware that the deadline for submission is already 09.11.2009.
