HEIMTSA

HEIMTSA (Health and Environment Integrated Methodology and Toolbox for Scenario Assessment) brings together an international team of scientists in the areas of epidemiology, environmental science and biosciences, to collaborate on developing and applying new, integrated approaches to the assessment of environmental health risks and consequences, in support of European policy in transport, energy, agriculture, industry, household and waste treatment and disposal.

The development of a practical framework for strategic noise mapping

The latest issue of Applied Acoustics published the results of an Irish study about mapping noise pollution simply and cost-effectively. The study evaluates a simple noise mapping tool and demonstrates that it produces very similar results to standard commercial software and therefore can be considered as alternative.

Workshop on GIS for Integrated Assessment

A short course on GIS for integrated assessment will be held from 29 June - 03 July 2009 at Imperial College, London. This workshop aims on communicating in which ways spatial methods and GIS can be used for exposure assessment and risk analysis in order to support public health policy.

21st ISEE conference "Food environment and Global Health"

The joint British-Irish 21st annual conference of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) will take place from 25-29 August 2009 in Dublin, Ireland.

The main theme is 'Environment, Food and Global Health'. In addition to the focus on the topic "food environment and global health" the scientific programme will cover the whole spectrum of topics in environmental epidemiology. HEIMTSA will contribute to the conference with several presentations. Detailed information about the conference can be found on the 21st ISEE website.

Bridging the Gap: 2nd joint HEIMTSA-INTARESE workshop

The second joint HEIMTSA-INTARESE work-shop was held with emphasis on "Developments in Integrated Environmental Health Impact Assessment (IEHIA), with special reference to policies that affect Indoor Air".

Prolonged registration deadline for Summer School

The deadline for registrating to the HEIMTSA/2-FUN/INTARESE Summer school have been prolonged to 30th April. Please register HERE if you still haven't done so.

HEIMTSA/INTARESE/2-FUN summer school

HEIMTSA along with INTARESE and 2-FUN is arranging a summer school in Stuttgart, Germany, on the 10th till 12th June 2009.

The registration starts now and will end by the 9th April.
