The workshop aims at bringing forward knowledge about particulate matter in the West Balkan and Mediterranean area, and at promoting dialogue between scientists and air quality managers.  
 
This is the first call for contributions, oral or poster, to be published in a conference book of abstracts, with a possibility to publish as an article in Chemical  Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly.  First abstract deadline is 10.7.2009.

            <title>TRISK open for application </title>
            <description> The TRISK - European Toxicology Risk Assessment Training Programme is now open for application.  The objective of the training programme is to provide a comprehensive training in toxicological risk assessment   that serves as a model for  future European training in risk assessment for accredited European risk  assessors. 
The training programme includes eight 1-week-long course modules, an  applied training at an institution performing risk assessments and a final  examination and lasts throughout 2010 and 2011.

            <title>The development of a practical framework for strategic noise mapping</title>
            <description> The latest issue of   Applied Acoustics   published the results of an Irish study about mapping noise pollution simply and cost-effectively. The study evaluates a simple noise mapping tool and demonstrates that it produces very similar results to standard commercial software and therefore can be considered as alternative.
